Changing church changing China

London — 14 Nov 2015

A World Changers multi-mission agency event

If we were to use a metaphor to describe the church in China today, she is like a rising sun, slowly unfolding her zeal and radiance. Or, she is like a maturing young person, full of curiosity and passion to forge ahead and try new things, so much so that it's impossible to stop her. In the past ten years, the Christian population of China has continued to grow. According to recent research China will have the highest population of Christians in the world by 2030. Should this statistic come true, what kind of impact will it have on China and the world?

Since 2008, a growing number of Chinese Christians have been participating in cross-cultural mission. In other words, the Chinese church is emerging and has become a member of the global mission movement. What trends will all these changes bring about? How should we view the gradually maturing Chinese church?

Come and join us as we think through these questions together.

We will also look at the challenges faced by the Chinese church in this generation, such as relationships between urban and rural churches, the impact of secularism, the rise of nationalism, social and political tensions, and the place of global missions. How can we watch out for the Chinese church? Where are the opportunities in these challenges? What are some of the ways we can journey alongside the Chinese Church as she moves bravely forward?
