Children's Holiday Club Workers – Senegal
Take responsibility for running a children's programme for about 20 children between 6 and 16 years old, for the duration of a 10-day conference held annually in January at WEC's Christian School near Dakar. You will come fully prepared to lead and run all the programme content with your team.
These are opportunities for missionaries' children to have a break from intense cross-cultural experiences, and to holiday and enjoy socialising with other Western children from their parents' home culture.
Your role is to enhance that experience for them. Before or after the conference you may have an opportunity to spend time with a missionary in their ministry setting.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
Fluent English speaker, experience working with children and teenagers, whether a school teacher or kids club leader or other youth worker. You enjoy putting together a lively fun programme which helps them engage with God and with Bible teaching. Good French comprehension would also be useful.

Senegal in West Africa owes its name to the Senegal River. The name comes from the Wolof 'Sunuu Gaal', which means 'Our Boat'. Senegal covers a land area of almost 197,000 sq kilometres and has an estimated population of about 15 million. Its economic and political capital is Dakar. The climate is Sahelian, but there is a rainy season.
The vision of WEC in Senegal is to see every people and language group of Senegal knowing, loving and worshipping Jesus.
We believe we will see this happen as we commit to workers sharing the good news of Jesus creatively, sensitively and abundantly amongst the people in urban centres and rural areas, reaching both adults and children.
We want to see groups of disciples emerging and communities of disciples belonging to Jesus formed who understand and obey the great commission.
As well as church planting, another essential ministry in Senegal is BCS, Bourofaye Christian School, for missionaries' children. The school serves Christian workers in many West African countries and provides quality schooling for children aged 8-16.
