Communications Director – UK
We are passionate about Jesus and crossing-cultures to share the hope we have. We make disciples and start churches where there are none or few. We are looking for someone to assist our work by helping us set the communications strategy for the mission of WEC UK.
We are looking for someone to take the lead in developing strong intriguing campaigns and messaging. Help us provide WEC UK with a voice that clearly communicates our passion, values, goals and objectives. We need you to represent WEC UK to the outside world.
You will work closely with our Media and Communications team to provide inspiring resources, campaigns, social media, and films. You will help WEC to maintain standards of presentation to the UK public. You will help us maintain our brand identity across all platforms.
We are looking for someone to keep up to date with the UK missions scene by listening to the national church and other mission agencies.
Comfortable with the Press? Happy giving interviews? Adept at running off press releases? All would be brilliant.
Key working relationships: the UK leadership team, the Head of Mobilising, the Media and Communications team leader, and our ministry team leaders.

Qualities & Gifts Sought
Essential skills: Excellent spoken and written English. Proven leadership skills. The ability to work with other members of WEC.
Desirable skills: Ideally you will have demonstrable experience in the media and public relations. Strong writing, editing, and public speaking. An excellent understanding of marketing, advertising and publicity. A relevant degree in communications, business, or marketing.
You are a good listener and communicator. You will have a growing passion for world mission. You will have a passion to see an increase in recruitment to WEC from all sections of the UK Church.
Ideally based in Coventry we are looking for someone to join in with our growing HQ team. There will be some travel within the UK, and you will have opportunities to travel overseas.

WEC in the UK
WEC's work in the UK has a long history of training and sending Christian workers all over the world. WEC UK is committed to:
• Partnering with churches all over the UK to mobilise our members into ministry;
• Working cross-culturally to bring immigrant communities into Christian community Neighbours Worldwide;
• Encouraging and stimulating prayer for world missions, accurately researching the whole mission scene through the Operation World team;
• Offering opportunities for short-term missions exposure;
• Ministering to drug and alcohol addicts through the work of Betel;
• Working with churches to run World Adventure kids programmes and summer youth camps aiming to bring children to faith and to learn about their place in God’s world;
• Publishing strategic mission books and magazines;
• Hosting Mission & Me days to those wishing to explore God’s call to cross-cultural work.
