Evangelist among pilgrims – Spain
Over 300,000 pilgrims walk the Camino (The Way) for about 2 weeks each year through Santiago de Compostela, claimed to be the burial site of St James. The vast majority walk it from April-October which is an ideal time to come and walk alongside them, sharing the gospel.
This is an opportunity to work alongside various types of mission work: teaching English, student work, working with children and prayer walking.
After an orientation and initial training, walk 'The Way' for several days or weeks while evangelising, and then share and be debriefed, and investigate further opportunities to serve here.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
Fitness to walk long distances, and some experience in sharing your faith easily and confidently. Spanish language would be ideal, but English speakers would also be welcome.

About Teaching English
Fluency in English provides students with a vital skill. By teaching English you have a chance to build relationships with students, and can provide opportunities to share the gospel.
You can use your TEFL or TESOL training on a short-term mission experience with WEC. Have an opportunity to travel and experience a new culture.
TEFL training: You can study English Teaching online, or gain qualifications with one of our partners, ChristianTEFL.org
Every year there are opportunities in Brazil to teach our trainee missionaries. Here's a taster:
Jacquie taught English in Guinea-Bissau on a short term mission with WEC. Read Jacquie's story.

Spain is a country mostly located on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe. There are also two large archipelagoes, the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and the Canary Islands off the African Atlantic coast.
The country's mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.
Spain is the only European country to have a border with an African country (Morocco) and its African territory accounts for nearly 5% of its population, mostly in the Canary Islands, but also in Ceuta and Melilla.
With an area of 505,990 km2 (195,360 sq mi), Spain is the largest country in Southern Europe, the second largest country in Western Europe.
By population, Spain is the sixth largest in Europe. Spain's capital and largest city is Madrid. Other major urban areas include Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao and Málaga.
