A new post with responsibilities for planning and project development of an optical health service, running two private eye hospitals. Also involvement in small and large government eye hospitals, and training programmes.
Oversee professional development, training, capacity building, supervising, monitoring and evaluation.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
Ophthalmologist or senior medical doctor with both experience and interest in training. Good management and communication skills. Fluent written and spoken English, but willingness to learn the local language.
Commitment to develop excellent and sustainable eye care for all. Ability to work methodically and effectively without direct supervision, and willingness to live and work in an unpredictable cross-cultural context.

One midwifery nurse writes: "Three mornings a week I work at a local hospital. Together with a local nurse we encourage women with newborn babies to breastfeed their infant. We have only a few minutes with each mother yet it is a great opportunity to share God’s love with these young women at a very special, precious and at the same time vulnerable moment of their lives. … The midwives in the maternity hospital there have asked for more training in dealing with complicated deliveries."
