Language Learning Advisor – Senegal
Help increase the effectiveness of our cross-cultural workers in their future ministry. Give encouragement, training and coaching to language learners. Students may be from several countries.
Conduct individual tuition, lead workshops and seminars, coach language learning activities for language learners and organise resource sets. Give support to area leaders or language supervisors. Make a lasting impact on individual believers and their nation.

Qualities & Gifts Sought
Training in linguistics in the field of self-driven language learning, particularly phonetics, phonology, grammar and language analysis. Experience in teaching would be useful but not required.

Senegal in West Africa owes its name to the Senegal River. The name comes from the Wolof 'Sunuu Gaal', which means 'Our Boat'. Senegal covers a land area of almost 197,000 sq kilometres and has an estimated population of about 15 million. Its economic and political capital is Dakar. The climate is Sahelian, but there is a rainy season.
The vision of WEC in Senegal is to see every people and language group of Senegal knowing, loving and worshipping Jesus.
We believe we will see this happen as we commit to workers sharing the good news of Jesus creatively, sensitively and abundantly amongst the people in urban centres and rural areas, reaching both adults and children.
We want to see groups of disciples emerging and communities of disciples belonging to Jesus formed who understand and obey the great commission.
As well as church planting, another essential ministry in Senegal is BCS, Bourofaye Christian School, for missionaries' children. The school serves Christian workers in many West African countries and provides quality schooling for children aged 8-16.
