Ophthalmology Trainer – Central Asia

A brief window of opportunity to give support to an existing eyecare project. Provide external teaching and training for local trainee ophthalmologists, opticians and optometrists for at least 2-4 weeks.

Help maintain high standard of ophthalmic care in clinical and surgical practices and procedures, in the outpatients' clinic, on wards and in the operating theatre. Help to improve doctors' training and accreditation programme through supervision, assessment and direction to medical staff.

Qualities & Gifts Sought

Professional ophthalmologist; graduate of accredited ophthalmology programme, and board accreditation (or equivalent).

Ability to teach theory and demonstrate clinical or surgical principles and procedures to international professional standards. Knowledge and experience of eyecare in a developing country would be helpful.
