We need French-speaking musicians for a trip of a lifetime
Join a French-speaking team for 10 days of song-writing, musical exchange and outreach
Are you a qualified or experienced musician who would be excited about using your gifts for a unique cultural experience?
You’ll be part of a small group of musicians who will travel to Gaoua in southern Burkina Faso.
You will learn about heart-worship and participate in song-writing workshops.
In Burkino Faso the team will be joined by 50 young worship leaders/musicians from the Evangelical Protestant (EPE) church, who will come from all over the country (EPE is established in five different regions of Burkino Faso).
Song-writing workshop 1
As a group, you will facilitate and take part in a collective song-writing workshop, and together you will compose worship/praise songs for a special worship service.
The WEC Arts Release trainers will have explained ‘Heart Music’ a fundamental concept of Ethnomusicology.
Song-writing workshop 2 and local outreach
There will also be a second song-writing workshop to create songs for outreach which everyone will learn for an outreach concert to the town of Gaoua.
Orientation and pre-trip training

Before the trip starts you will train in all aspects of short-term mission outreach. Specific musical training will be given by a leading ethnomusicologist from the UK, Ian Collinge.
