Evangelist among pilgrims on the Camino in Spain
Over 350,000 pilgrims walk The Camino (The Way) through Santiago de Compostela for about 2 weeks each year.
The vast majority walk it between April and October, which is an ideal time to come and walk alongside them, sharing the gospel through art, music, and conversations.
Take such an opportunity to participate in a variety of mission work: teaching English, student work, artwork, children's ministry, as well as prayer walking.
Throughout the year the WEC team serve in various Christian hostels doing maintenance and construction, so those with handy skills are welcome to join us.
After an orientation and initial training, walk the Camino for several days or weeks while evangelising, and then share together and be debriefed, and perhaps investigate further opportunities to serve in Galicia.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
You are fit enough to walk long distances, and have experience and confidence in sharing your faith naturally.
Practical maintenance or building skills would be great for the winter too. Some Spanish language would be wonderful, or take some time to learn it while you are here.
While actually walking, you will stay overnight in hostels along the route usually in mixed dorms!
During the introduction and evaluation you will stay with WEC missionary families. While helping in hostels that other ministries have, you will stay there.

About Spain
Spain is a country mostly located on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe. There are also two large archipelagoes, the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and the Canary Islands off the African Atlantic coast.
The country's mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.
Spain is the only European country to have a border with an African country (Morocco) and its African territory accounts for nearly 5% of its population, mostly in the Canary Islands, but also in Ceuta and Melilla.
With an area of 505,990 km2 (195,360 sq mi), Spain is the largest country in Southern Europe, the second largest country in Western Europe.
By population, Spain is the sixth largest in Europe. Spain's capital and largest city is Madrid. Other major urban areas include Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao and Málaga.
