Mission Mobiliser in Finland
Work with our small Finnish team and our European mobilisers seeking to share our vision of global cross-cultural mission in Finnish churches, aiming to train and recruit people in Finland for cross-cultural service wherever unreached peoples are found.
As you relate to church leaders and partner with other like-minded mission agencies, you will take opportunities to promote, organise, inspire and focus prayer for the unreached peoples across Europe and beyond.

Finland is a parliamentary republic, and its head of state is the President. Helsinki is the nation's capital city.
The service sector constitutes the largest segment of the economy, amounting to 66% of the GDP, while manufacturing and refining make up 31%. The predominant industrial sectors have been electronics, machinery, vehicles, and other engineered metal products, timber products and chemicals.
Lapland has the highest tourism consumption of any Finnish region. Above the Arctic Circle, in midwinter a polar night can be experienced for up to 73 consecutive days. Lapland is so far north that the aurora borealis is seen regularly between autumn and spring. Finnish Lapland is also locally regarded as the home of 'Santa Claus', with several theme parks in the Rovaniemi area. Other significant tourist destinations include ski resorts and sleigh rides led by reindeer or huskies. The Finns' love for saunas is generally associated with Finnish cultural tradition in the world. Floorball a kind of hockey) is the most popular youth and workplace sport.
The population of Finland is currently about 5.6 million. The majority of its population are Finns, with 5.2% of the population being mother-tongue Swedish speakers. Finnish and Swedish are the official languages of Finland, and Romani and Finnish Sign Language are also recognized in the constitution, while the Sámi languages have official status in parts of Lapland.

Finland has a largely secular society, even though Christians number 84% of the population. 90% look with favour on the Church’s social work, but only 8% consistently attend any kind of religious service. The last revival came in the 1960s. Strong belief in the power of human reason, and rejection of supernatural things, now dominates the society. An ultra-modern country like Finland probably needs both reformation in the existing Church and also new expressions of faith.
