Mission on your doorstep
Some of the world's least-reached peoples now live in British cities. You don't need a passport to meet them. You need time, training and someone alongside you who has done it before.
The Crossing Cultures Internship Programme gives you all three. Over six months you'll live and serve among immigrant communities in the UK, learn from WEC missionaries with decades of cross-cultural experience, and work out what it means to follow Jesus into other people's worlds.
What you'll do
Serve with a local team. Three weeks of every month you'll live with a host family and work alongside a cross-cultural ministry team rooted in a local church. Friendships, meals, language, conversations about faith. Ministry happens in ordinary life, and you'll be in the middle of it.
Train together. One week of every month you'll gather with the other interns in the Midlands for Bible teaching, ministry skills and time to reflect on what you're learning on the ground.
Grow with a mentor. An experienced WEC missionary walks with you throughout the programme, helping you build the skills, character and confidence to share Jesus across cultures.
Where
Placements are in the UK. Training weeks take place in the Midlands.
Who it's for
- Committed Christians aged 18 to 24
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Willing to live with a host family and be part of a local church for six months
- Curious about mission and ready to be stretched
You don't need previous mission experience. You do need to be teachable.
Cost
Around £1,200 for the six months. This covers your training weeks and programme costs. Many interns raise support through their home church; we can help you think that through.
When
The programme runs once a year from January to July. Applications for each intake open in the autumn.
