Missionandme Artists Wec Ireland

Mission & Me for arts practitioners

Portadown — 1 Jun 2019

A special day for creatives interested in using the arts in international mission

"The arts are able to speak deeply to those who experience it. Somebody has said that the arts are cultures heart language and that art can capture things where words alone fail. If you are an artist of any discipline, you have a place in mission." Ian Collinge, Arts Release Director

What can artists contribute to church planting teams across the world?

Find out how your artistic skills can be part of God's missionary heart.

Join us for a day of exploration in a relaxed and informal environment.

For any arts practitioner who enjoys performing arts, drama, music, storytelling, poetry, drawing, painting, photography, design, filming, sculpting, literature, prose, ceramics, theatre, dance, or any artistic discipline.

We will look into cultural aspects of the arts and how they touch peoples hearts and will take part in multi-cultural worship together.

Through discussions, prayer, and conversations with experienced missionaries, Mission & Me will help you explore how you could use your artistic gifts in mission and what options might be open to you.

The day will be hosted by a team of specialists from Arts Release and will cover:

  • The Bible's love of arts
  • How most of the world learns orally
  • Worship experiences with arts
  • Breakout groups (music, drama, visual art, graphic art)
  • Real life stories
  • Next steps and opportunities

Cost: we ask for a suggested contribution of £5 for lunch, refreshments and an evening barbeque.

To guarantee your place please register your interest - contact Paul Swaffield, WEC Ireland Director for more information.
