Business Entrepreneur in Southeast Europe
Can business help to promote reconciliation and hope in a broken community? We believe that business can be a tool to reach people with the gospel and see lives changed for the better.
Are you a self-starter, with entrepreneurial ideas in your area of expertise? Are you willing to persist to launch a new endeavour ethically in a challenging corrupt environment?
Come and join our team, to use your business acumen as a way to connect with people and train them up in positive, ethical, commercial and administration skills.
Build long-term relationships across the dividing line through this community, learning the language, culture, and the giving and receiving of hospitality.
As you do so and become part of local community life, your love of Christ will shine out through your actions and words and you will have God-ordained opportunities to see churches planted.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
Ideally you have considerable previous business experience, and success in starting up new ones. The working environment is challenging, so you need to be creative, flexible, and patient.
Be willing to spend time building relationships with locals across all ethnicities. Make efforts to learn a challenging Slavic language – three different dialects are used within the local community.

About Southeast Europe
Southeast Europe offers unique opportunities and challenges for mission.
Orthodox Christianity is in decline in this region and the arrival of people from different nations is providing a new context to reach the unreached. WEC aims to respond to these opportunities and challenges, and to mobilise East Europeans to reach the unreached on their own doorstep, as well as to go to new cultures and join our teams around the world.
WEC is currently working in Albania, Greece, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and elsewhere in the Balkans. Each team has been involved in outreach and church planting, as well as in community projects, for several years.
One team is running a free medical service and children's programmes as well as looking for more ways to reach their community. Another team has a ministry centre and is exploring their options in reaching out to more parts of the neighbouring community. Another small team has an established reconciliation ministry, and there are opportunities among refugees in partnership with established churches.
WEC is prayerfully planning and anticipating reaching out to more new locations. This includes church planting and discipling in more districts in cities and towns not yet reached.
