WEC's USA branch HQ in Fort Washington has Linux-based servers and a network to support members both on the premises and remotely.  Come to deploy and maintain the servers and network on site.

The tasks required include: Linux systems engineering, Network administration, Security engineering, Monitoring, File and Mailserver, Backups, and Secure communications.

You are content to work independently but within an international team. Be prepared for varied work hours and challenging schedules. Because of international time zone differences, team collaboration with other IT workers abroad can be hindered.

Qualities & Gifts Sought

Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with Linux (preferably Debian), as well as with server administration, and network administration. You have some experience deploying and managing KVM-based virtual machines.

You understand email server systems (eg. Postfix / Dovecot), SAMBA file servers, web servers, databases (MySQL/MariaDB), etc. You are confident when learning independently to deploy server-based software systems.

You love the Lord Jesus and will enjoy being part of an international ministry that exists to make Christ known, loved and worshipped.

Much of the work could be done remotely, but you will be required to live at or near the US base to deal with any hardware issues promptly.
