Medical Roles in a Small Desert Hospital in North Africa
A small hospital in the Sahara desert is in a strategic location to serve local people who have little other access to medical services.
The hospital currently has openings for: a Midwife, Nurse, Primary Care Doctor, Anaesthetist, Gastroenterologist, Mammogram Technician, Pathologist, Lab Technician, and a Pharmacist.
Other roles may be considered by the time you apply. You would only be required to work part-time in order to spend time learning the local language and culture of your patients.
You will enjoy times of worship and fellowship with other foreign staff and team members.
Qualities & Gifts Sought
You would need to learn local Arabic, and French may also be useful. You will speak English within the team. Translators can be provided initially, but you will be given time for language learning and will be helped to arrange this.
The climate is extremely hot and dry, so you will need to be in good health and resilient. You have prior cross-cultural experience including with Muslim communities.
You have learned and will respect the history and beliefs of Islam, and have a burden to intercede for them.
