Congolese children from all kinds of backgrounds are gathering at a pastor’s home to hear the good news.
Last year, Pastor Manzimba and his wife began a time of prayer with their own children, each evening at 5pm. They soon found that, one by one, other children started joining them. At first, the children were those of the nearest neighbours. Then other children from the local area began to come. They spent the time together in prayer and worship, and studying the Bible.
Pastor Manzimba takes up the story himself: ‘Progressively, God began to add to the number so many that the living room could no longer contain them.'
Every day we were seeing new children spontaneously join the group. This forced us out into the open air.
At Christmas, the family held a service for the children with a hundred and ten present. Since that time, around 100 children have been attending each meeting. They come from all kinds of backgrounds, including Kimbanguist (a Congolese cult) and Muslim.
