Mission & Me is truly unique. It offers a taste of cross-cultural mission in a relaxed setting, and enables anyone interested in mission to gain a clearer idea of God’s calling on their lives. A typical Mission & Me includes prayer, worship, discussions, input from seasoned cross-cultural missionaries, and some kind of cross-cultural “experience” – often the highlight of the weekend!
People come to Mission & Me for a variety of reasons: some are more or less decided that they want to prepare for long-term mission. Others are interested in short-term trips, as a way of exploring a possible longer-term calling. For others, Mission & Me is a simple introduction to the whole arena of cross-cultural mission. It’s common for delegates to be interested in using their professional skills in mission, too. A recent weekend included a nurse, a teacher and an artist, all of whom hope to continue their work in a cross-cultural setting.

The impact of Mission & Me is huge. Delegates often go on to short- and long-term mission, and several of WEC’s current long-term workers took their first steps in mission through a Mission & Me day. Delegates say:

In all of this, the role of the host church is vital. Several churches around the UK currently partner with WEC by providing generous hospitality for Mission & Me days and helping to publicise these events within their own networks.
For example, we’re delighted to be working with St Luke’s in Hackney and the Chinese Church in London (Soho and Hammersmith). We would love to expand this network and partner with more churches to release Christians into mission.
