Meet Suzanne, one of our mobilisers in London
What first drew you to WEC?
As my husband Steve and I explored which organisation we should join, the passion, mission and values of WEC won our hearts. And the family feel to WEC makes it really unique.
What were you doing before?
Before this role, we were serving in the south of Spain with Betel, a WEC initiative reaching out to people struggling with drug and alcohol misuse.
What is the best thing about your role?
There is a lot of diversity in the role, which I like. I particularly enjoy face-to-face ministry, which often lets me help others step into the plans God has for them. Mission & Me has been an exciting event to run, too. It gives people an amazing opportunity to explore their calling and enables them to discover how to play their part in the Great Commission. The feedback so far has been very positive, and we’re looking forward to the next one!
Have faith in him and no other. Trust that, if he is calling you, he will provide for all your needs
What do your family think of what you’re doing?
They’re very supportive but some of my family members don’t quite ‘get it’.
What’s it been like, moving to London?
We are delighted to have been challenged to move to London. We thought it was going to be difficult, but the Lord has led the way. But with a new work of the Lord, there is often a lack of resources. For us as a team, this means a lack of workers – we need more. We trust that, as his plans unfold, the Lord of the harvest is preparing more workers to join us.
There is a lot of diversity in the role and I particularly enjoy face-to-face ministry.
What advice would you give to someone who thinks God might be calling them into cross-cultural ministry?
Have faith in him and no other. Trust that, if he is calling you, he will provide for all your needs, whatever odds you’re facing.
And how can we pray for you?
That my excitement in making the gospel known will continue. And that Steve and I will increase in God’s wisdom and discernment as we guide the team in London to fulfil his purposes.
