Prayer
Ministry
“We think of prayer as a preparation for work, or a calm after having done work, whereas prayer is the essential work. It is the supreme activity of everything that is noblest in our personality.” Oswald Chambers Prayer is absolutely vital to WEC’s ministry. You can join us in this essential work by becoming part of a WEC prayer group, starting a WEC Prayer Group in your area, or receiving WEC Pray. WEC Pray is WEC’s monthly prayer email, full of material to inspire you and enable you to pray for the nations and the work of WEC in an informed way. To subscribe please email us. WEC UK also has a daily feed on Twitter and on the PrayerMate App. Click here to subscribe to PrayerMate. For personal study Dynamic Prayer from our Trekking Deeper series is available online here.

Neighbours Worldwide
Ministry
The world is on our doorstep! In Britain and Ireland there is a thriving and growing population of people from areas of the world where the gospel is not easily heard. Although living here, most of these families still have no real knowledge of Christ or contact with the christian church. Neighbours Worldwide aims to serve these dear people in the UK and Ireland. Working alongside existing churches, Neighbours Worldwide teams teach English, lead Bible studies, visit families, give out Christian literature and do all they can to share the love of Christ in a relevant way.

Training Colleges
Ministry
WEC runs five training centres around the world, teaching theology, people skills, and everything you need to be ready for effective cross-cultural service. The training is not limited to the classroom. Students gain hands-on experience of the work of God, through many different ministry opportunities, locally and overseas. To be relevant in Christian work, we must continue growing as Christians, and residential living in community is key to developing character and a Christ-like lifestyle.

Prayer
Ministry
We recognise a constant dependence on the Lord and we want to have the attitude of mind and heart that keeps us crying out to God, believing that he can give us the wisdom we seek, he can prepare hearts to receive the good news and he can provide all that is needed so that the unreached hear the gospel.

Teaching English
Ministry
Teaching English provides the student with a vital skill, and offers the teacher a chance to build relationships and share the gospel. WEC has many opportunities for you to teach the English language to adults and young people: to immigrants and students here in the UK, and in schools, colleges, universities or private tuition, overseas. A TEFL qualification is very useful in this, and WEC are happy to recommend several UK-based TEFL courses including Christian TEFL.

Friendship Evangelism
Ministry
Public evangelism isn’t always the best way to share the good news. In some nations, overt religious activity of this kind is prohibited. And in any case, sharing your faith in the context of a friendship is often the most powerful approach. Many of us specialise in friendship evangelism; sharing their faith with friends and neighbours in cultures where preaching is discouraged or even impossible. We build relationships with local people, accept hospitality from them and perhaps teach them a little English. Sharing the gospel happens very naturally through these relationships.

Church planting
Ministry
One third of the world does not have access to the stories of Jesus. WEC’s aim is to work with God’s church to see worshipping communities established among these people groups. Our teams live alongside local people, journeying with them and sharing the good news. Ultimately, their aim is to plant vibrant churches, empowering local Christians to lead and transform their communities.

Betel
Ministry
Since starting up in Spain in 1985, Betel has become a global phenomenon, now established in over 80 cities in 21 countries worldwide. In each Betel residential centre, people struggling with addictions are inducted into a caring Christian community and nurtured back to wholeness. In the words of UK Directors, Kent and Mary Alice Martin, they ‘gradually rebuild their dignity with meaningful relationships and meaningful work.’ Betelitos are encouraged to stay for 12-18 months and many of those who have been healed stay on after that to help in the ministry.
